Altered Jacket Bargain of the Week
I have wanted a black pleather biker jacket for a while and as I am a thrifty kinda girl I like to bargain shop, but I also like to challenge mysel,f so you can imagine how excited I was to find a cheap jacket in a large size.
Now for many, this might be a challenge but as you get to know me you will realise that…..I LOVE A CHALLENGE!
Challenge 1 : Jacket size 18
Challenge 2 : I am size 8-10
Challenge 3 : Make it fit me
Pro : Jacket is only 50
Well I had to give this a go, especially as even if its a disaster (which was not an option lol!) 50p would not break the bank….
Process
Many jackets have an opening in the lining of the sleeve…
I undid this and pulled the jacket through itself so that I could get to the main seams of the inner jacket.
I unpicked the arms as they were too long for me, cut 2inches off and re-sewed them back to the shoulder of the jacket.
I sewed 1inch into each seam of the jacket which bought in the back of the jacket.
I sewed in the side seams to bring in the waist.
Turned the jacket back out (pulling it through the opening in the 1st arm lining sewed the arm seam closed and Voila!!!!!
New Smaller jacket!!
